As I alluded in a previous post, COLEwebdev is now a full member of the Eastham Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to participating in chamber events and working with members to improve and further the business in Eastham.
The current Eastham Chamber website was designed and built by fellow chamber member C4, below is an image of the current home page:

The headline of this post may be a bit over dramatic (as I’m sure parts of Eastham Cape Cod have DSL) but I was shocked when learned that DSL was not available at my home address here in Eastham. I don’t live “in the middle of no where” and there are other services (Comcast) available here no problem, and it’s 2008 for goodness sake. FIOS in case you’re wondering, is also not available here (big surprise).
What I did find at the Verizon site was a nice little Flash animation demonstrating how fast Verizon’s two top High-Speed offerings are compared to old school 56K Dial-Up. Even though the Flash media didn’t actually represent anything ‘real’ it probably is very effective at selling the two tiers of fast Internet service.

I just put the finishing touches on the business listing for COLEwebdev on the C4 designed and maintained Cape Cod and Islands Business Directory. The online, web based Cape Cod business directory site hosts 3500 business listings from around the Cape, and COLEwebdev is now in the Web Design category.
This enhanced business listing comes as part of membership with the Eastham Chamber of Commerce, which we’ll be posting about later today/tomorrow as we are now full members.

I was working on one of my affiliate websites this evening (which is doing quite well thank you) and needed a reference for constructing an .htaccess file (to create some 301 Redirects and such) Luckily I remembered that I had authored an article back in 2007 on my own blog JosiahCole.com on that very topic; Almost Perfect htaccess File for WordPress Blogs The tutorial not only applies to WordPress based websites but also a broad range of site configurations.
It’s one of the more popular articles on Josiah Cole, and consistently ranks as one of the top 5 most read articles in Google Analytics for visitors and time spent on page. Highlighted in Spot #3 in the screenshot below:
