Just a few days ago I had the pleasure of networking at the Eclectic Cafe on Main street in Hyannis with fellow business owners. I had never been to the Cafe before, however I had met one of the owners at another Hyannis networking event and he had told me about his cafe and where it was located in Haynnis. There were about 200 people who showed up for networking and the place was packed, we were enjoying the outdoor seating areas as well as the indoor seating areas while servers walked around with great food. Many of the food items that were being served were getting rave reviews such as: Pate, Escargot, Soup shots and Spicy Fried Avocado with dipping sauce. The cafe had 2 bars setup with wine, beer and liquor and the staff could not have been friendlier.
I would highly recommend taking your wife or husband to the Eclectic Cafe for a fabulous dinner, you can view their menu right online.
The Eclectic Cafe has a new “romantic” spot for 2 nestled between a few beautiful trees in the courtyard where you can have a relaxing dinner without the kids.

Last evening Josiah and I went to a joint chamber networking event at the Wequassett Resort in Chatham. The four chambers that participated were: Eastham, Orleans, Chatham and Harwich. The event was a big hit and was sold out right away. They had a very nice buffet of food setup as well as people bringing around trays of delicious treats. They even served the beer in a large beer glass. I had a great time chatting with other business owners and I met some new people from other chambers. The views from the room we were in were outstanding, looking out over the water and into the cove. Many of the people I spoke with have boats and said that they come into the cove and dock at the Wequassett and grab a bite to eat in the restaurant quite often. I definitely plan on going back to the Wequassett next Summer with my kids as they have a great outdoor kid area with pools and toys and more.

Twitter has hit the big time (thanks to CNN, Oprah and Ashton Kutcher), and more and more Cape Cod business owners and residents are creating accounts and taking advantage of this new social networking tool. As you dive into Twitter you start to amass a list of friends, or people who you are following. After a while the chatter gets somewhat loud, and you’ll find that some friends are no longer posting, or aren’t following you (reciprocating).
In comes the power of web applications and the Twitter API which allows Internet application developers to create tools to help you manage your Twitter friend list. I just posted a round-up of 6 of these tools on my personal blog, check out the post; 6 Tools to Keep your Twitter List Tidy to begin your pruning.
