As a basketball and proud Boston Celtics fan I watched with great delight the Dallas Mavericks win the NBA finals denying Lebron James and the Miami Heat their seemingly undeniable first title. And while it may seem rude to pile on the "I told you so" train in regards to Lebron James leaving Cleveland in hopes of finding an easier title in Miami ... I just have to.
See like Lebron when his contract ended, our clients get approached daily by sales people of all sorts promising a shortcut to success. "Buy today and we'll waive the setup fee" ... "Sign up with us and get first place rankings, guaranteed!" ...."Let us manage your Facebook and double your fans every month!". While Lebron's offers had a few more zeros in front of them then the ones our clients typically see, the effect was the same: A promise of great success, no hard work needed, just sign on the dotted line.
While these promises seem enticing and the sales people genuine, these shortcuts to success are not real.
Work on your website and do it well. Approach each new feature one-at-a-time and dedicate the time to executing it well. Work with someone who is invested in your success not someone looking for a quick buck, so that you get the results you want.
If you focus on one thing about your website each year and do that well for the entire year the benefit to your website and business will be great.
