How did you get started with your business? I (Peter) purchased it from my parents in 1982, after managing it for 6 years for them.
Tell us about the business: We are a full service restaurant, specializing in fresh seafood, great meat and poultry dishes, and a great salad bar.
Tell us about yourself: Peter is a Nauset Graduate (1972)Â and aÂ UMass Amherst graduate of the Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration (HRTA for short) 1976.
Where do you find inspiration? From our incredible staff and customer base.
What do you love about your business? Making people happy. Giving them a product they wish to return for.
What are some ways that you promote your business? Word of mouth is key, as we are about 95% repeat trade. We also do a fair amount of paper advertising. The newest location for us is the internet, where we are getting accolades on the website that COLEwebdev developed for and with us.
Do you have any advice to offer others in your same business? Do not stop advertising. It is a reminder that you are there. Work on developing repeat trade, and be happy with what you do.
