How to Setup a Facebook Business Page
We get calls and email all of the time from our clients asking us how to setup a Facebook page for their business. I figured this would be a good place to give you all a step by step guide on how to do this. Below you will find steps on creating a Facebook page for your business. Keep in mind that doing this means that you will now be adding another task to your list of things to do, as you will need to then post to your new Facebook page at least 1x per week, if not more. If you do not post to your new Facebook page enough, your viewers with lose interest and your page will be all for nothing. So here goes….
Step 1: Go to Facebook.com (be sure you are not logged in to your Facebook account already)
Step 2: Click on Create a Page (for a celebrity, band or business)
Step 3: You will see 3 boxes, choose the Category that makes the most sense for your type of business. For most, this would be the Local Business or Place.
Step 4: Once you click on a Category, you will be prompted to Login, you will want to login using your Personal Facebook credentials. Once logged in, you will be redirected to the Category page again, click on the Category of your choice again.
Step 5: Choose from each drop down menu and the click Get Started.
Step 6: Next you will be prompted to answer various questions about your business. Follow these steps to completion.
Step 7: Customize your page by adding a custom header image, phone number, website address, photos to the gallery, directions, etc.
Step 8: You are ready to Publish your new Facebook page to the World.
Step 9: Anytime you wish to add posts/images/content to your new Business page, you will want to login using your Personal Facebook page cedentials , and then click on the little star icon in the upper right corner of the screen and from the drop down menu choose your Business Page. This will allow you to post as your Business to your Business page.
Step 10: Have FUN! And do not forget to post often and to post smart.
